This indenture made the 27th day of July 1850 between Margaret McAnally as administratrix of John McAnally Decd of the one part and Joshua B. Cochran of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to the said Margaret McAnally in hand paid by the said Joshua B. Cochran before the sealing and delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof. She does hereby acknowledge … the said John McAnally bargained and sold unto the said Joshua B. Cochran and J. Margaret McAnally his lawful administratrix in his name and stance confirm and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien and confirm unto the said Joshua B. Cochran and his heirs a certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in Angelina County and the State of Texas about 16 miles S.E. by S from Marion Beginning 2200 varas S 45° W from the East corner of Thomas Hanks Survey point from which a hickory bears S 111 East 3 4/10 varas at black oak bears N 81° W 7 4/10 varas Thence S 45° E at … varas The N. line of Patric Mullins Survey point from which a white oak bears S. 57 E 1 8/10 varas a Sweet gum bears N. 76° E 111 varas. Thence N. 45 E with Said Survey 1885 a Post and mound from which a red oak bears S 111° E. marked P.M. a … bears N. 82° W. 3 varas. Thence S. 45V # with Mullins N. E line at 500 varas point from which a sweet gum bears N 35° W 6 varas a point bears S 60° E 34/10 varas. Thence 45° E at 1884 varas a post from which a red oak bears S 75 W. 10 varas a holly bears N 6° W. 6 varas thence N 45° West 1270 varas a post from which an Overcrip oak bears S 56° E 9 varas as a sweet gum bears S 3V W. 9 varas thence S 45° W at 1269 varas said Hanks E corner 3469 varas to the beginning. It being six hundred and thirty seven acres of a tract of a six hundred and forty acres granted to John McAnally on the Seventeenth day of October 18..hereby relinquishing to him the said Joshua B. Cochran and his heirs or assigns forever all the right and title in and to said Land heretofore held and possessed by the said John McAnally in Witness whereof I the said Margaret McAnally hath hereunto set my hand and seal this the day and year above written.

This indenture made the 5th day of November, 1867, between William Henington, of the County of Angelina and State of Texas, of the first part and Sarah Ann Cochran of the County and State aforesaid of the second part, witnesseth:

That the said of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of One Dollar, to him in hand paid by the party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath bargained and sold, and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto the said party of the second part and toher heirs and assigns, for over all of a certain tract or parcel of land in Angelina County, about 11½ miles S. 30° E. from Marion, beginning at the North corner of a 320 acre survey made in the name of A. Young, from which a Hickory 24 in. dia. brs. S. 82 W. 8 vrs., another 10 in. dia. brs. N. 85° E. 85 8/10 vrs.; thence South 45° E. 770 vrs; thence North 3 line of a survey of one league in the name of Pat Mullians from which a Post Oak 14 in. dia. brs. N. 60° E. 8 vrs.; thence North 60° W. 9 vrs., a Red Oak 14 in. dia. brs. S. 60° E. 8 vrs.; thence North 45° E. 540 vrs, the S. corner of a survey of 640 acres, from which a W. O. 18 in. dia. brs. S. 57° E. 1 8/10 vrs.; A sweet gum 14 in dia bears N. 76 E 10 vrs thence North 45° W. 770 vrs. McAnally cor. On Thos. hanks survey of 1200 acres; thence 8. 49 W. 540 vrs. to the beginning, bearing M K X containing seventy three and six tenths acres, together with all and singular the herditaments and appertanences thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and reversions; remainder and remainders, rents, issues and proffits thereof, and also all the estate, right, title, interest, claim or demand, whatsoever of him, the said party of the first part, either in law or equity, of in, and to the above bargained premises and every part and parcel thereof, to have and to hold to the said party of the second part, her heirs and assigns forever.

 

In witness whereof, we have hereunto set our hands and seals, using scrowls by way of scrowls, in the presence of B. J. Stripling, O. C. McNeil.

Stripling, who is personally known to me, one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing deed, who being duly sworn, states upon oath that William Henington Where signatrue appears to the foregoing deed, did sign, executre and deliver the same in his presents and that he deponant and O. C. McNeil signed the same as witnesses in the presence and at the request of the grantor, and the said Wm. Henington acknowledged that he signed, executed and delivered the same for the purposes and considerations therein mentioned and set fourth.

This indenture made this the 1st day of October, 1870 between Joshua B. Cochrane, sen. of the one part and Joshua B. Cochrane, June. of the other part Sen. of Juahua B. Cochrane Sein. witnesseth: That the Joshaua B. Cochrane, Sen. as will for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which he hath and beareth unto unto the said Joshua B. Cochrane, Jrne. his Sen. hath given granted, aliened and confirmed by these presents doth give, grant, alien and confirm unto the said Joshua B. Cochrane, Jun. fifty acres of land to include the improvement where he now lives, it being a part of the head right of John McAnally to commence wherever he may wish it to and run as he may wish to so as not to run on any of the said Joshua B. Cochrane, Sen. Improvements. To have and to hold the said land with the improvements thereon hereby given and granted hereunto the said Joshua B. Cochrane, June. his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behalf of him the said Joshua B. Cochrane, June, his heirs and assigns forever and the said Joshua B. Cochrane, Senr. for himself, his heirs, executors and administrators doth covenant and grant to and with the said Joshua B. Cochrane, Junr. his heirs and assigns by these presents that he, the said Joshua B. Cochrane, Junr., shall and lawfully mary and henceforth and ever hereafter hold the above named land.

Know all men by these presents that I Marilyn Koppal of said State and County party of the first part in consideration of the sum of one hundred and seventy-five dollars to me paid in cash by J. B. Cochran Jr. of Angelina County, Texas, the receipt of which I hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and do hereby grant bargain sell alien convey and confirm unto the said J. B. Cochran Jr. party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever that certain lot or parcel of land lying and situate in the Town of Homer County of Angelina State of Texas known as lot number four (4) in Block number seventeen (17) fronting on the west side of the public square together with all the buildings and improvements thereon and thereto belonging and being the same property conveyed to me by R. C. Allbritton by deed dated March 9th 1811 recorded in Angelina County, Texas Book … on pages 634 and 635 x x x x x x x

To have and to hold all and singular the above described property unto the said J. B. Cochran Jr. party of the second part his heirs and assigns together with all the rights thereto belonging And I do bind my self my heirs executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend the title to said premises against the legal claims of all persons claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof the purchaser assuming and to pay taxes for the year 1882. In testimony whereof I do hereunto affix my hand and seal using scroll for seal this 1st day of February A.D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty two (1882).

Know all men by these presents that I J.N.B. Guinn of the County of Cherokee and State aforesaid in consideration of the sum of thirty (30.00) dollars to me in hand paid by J.B. Cochran Jr. of the town of Homer Angelina County State aforesaid have granted sold and conveyed and by these presents do grant sell and convey unto the said J. B. Cochran Jr. of the County of Angelina and State of Texas all my right title and interest in and to the North half of lot No. 2 in Block No. 17 as shown by the plot of the town of Homer in the County of Angelina State aforesaid the same being situated on the west side of the public square in the town of Homer in said Angelina County State of Texas to have and to hold the above described premises together with all and singular the rights and appurtenances thereto in any wise belonging unto the said J. B. Cochran Jr. his heirs and assigns forever and do hereby bind my self my heirs executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said J. B. Cochran Jr. heirs and assigns against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof. Witness my hand at Alto this 21st day of January A.D. 1882.

Know all men by these presents that I Joshua B Cochran of the State and County aforesaid of Texas of the County of Angelina and State aforesaid (sic) in consideration of the Sum of one hundred Dollars to me in hand paid by Pat. J Cochran of the aforesaid State and county have granted Sold and conveyed and by these presents do grant Sell and convey unto the Said Pat. J. Another Sweet gum W. 7 vrs. Thence running with said line S 45° W 805 to a corner made in S B line on a Sweet gum bears N 10° W. 3 vrs another S 70° E 5. Both pines.

Thence running E 45° S 586 vrs to a corner made on a Sweet gum brs on a pine S 23 vrs pine E 5 vrs.

Thence running N 45° E 805 vrs to N.B. line of Said McAnally Survey, and corners on a maple brs a black gum E. 15° S. 7 vrs another cow oak S 8 vrs.

Thence running with Said line to the beginning N 45° W. 586 vrs. His heirs and assigns forever.

To have and to hold the above described premises together with all and singular the rights and appurtenances thereto in any wise belonging unto the Said Pat. J. Cochran his heirs and assigns forever and I do hereby bind my heirs Executors and Administrators to warrant and forever defend all and Singular the said premises unto the said Pat. J. Know all men by these presents that we P.J. Cochran and D. E. Cochran of the county of Angelina and State of Texas and Louisie I Creech Joined by her husband W. J. Creech and Sarah J Swauzey joined by her husband M. T. Swauzey of the county of Shelby in said State heirs at law of Pat J. Cochran deceased in consideration of one hundred dollars to us in hand paid by P. H. Cochran the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold and conveyed, and by these presents do grant bargain sell and convey unto the Said P. H. Cochran of the county of Angelina State of Texas all the right title interest and claims that we have in and to our hundred acres of land the Same being the Pat. J. Cochran homestead tract of land and originally granted to John McAnally and described as follows to wit: Beginning at the NW corner of said John McAnally headright bears a sweet gum E 15° W 7 vrs another sweet gum W 7 vrs.

Thence running with said line S 45° W 805 to a corner made on S.B. line on a sweet gum, brs N 10 W 3 vrs another S 70° E 5, both pines.

Thence running E 45 S 586 vrs to a corner made and sweet gum brs on a pine S 23 vrs, a pine E 5 vrs.

Thence running N 45° E 805 vrs to N.B. line of said McAnally survey and corners on a maple brs a black gum E 15° S 7 vrs. another cow oak S 8 vrs.

Thence running with said line to the beginning N 45° W. our interest be a for sixth (sic) or 2/3 undivided interest. Said land is situate in Angelina County, Texas, on the waters of the Angelina River.

To have and to hold the above described premises together with all and singular the rights and appurtenances thereto belonging unto the said P.H. Cochran his heirs and assigns forever. And we do hereby bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators to warrant and defend all and singular the said premises unto the said P. H. Cochran his heirs and assigns against the claims of all persons claiming the same or any part hereof.

Know all men by these presents that we, Chas. B. Smith and Caldonia Smith, husband and wife of the county and state aforesaid have this day for and in consideration of the sum of $500 to us, in hand paid by J. B. Cochran Jr., O. S. Reeves and L. N. Yates Trustees of Bunks School in Angelina County Texas the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents do Grant bargain, sell and convey unto L. Finley County Judge of Angelina County and his successors in Office the following lot or parcel of Land to be used as ground for a School house in the Bunks Community to be know as Bunks School, described as follows:

One acre off of the South side of a 100 acre tract of land in the name of Thomas Hanks. Beginning on the S.B. line of said 100 acre Survey 253 yds W of the S.E. Cor. A stake. Thence W 70 yds a corner. Thence North 70 yds a corner. Thence East 70 yds a corner. Thence South 70 yds the beginning containing one acre of land to have and to hold the same unto him the said L. Finley County Judge as afforesaid (sic) and his successors in office, Forever, and we do hereby bind ourselves our heirs and legal representatives to warrat (sic) and forever defend the title to the same against the Claims or Claims of any and all persons Claiming or to Claim the same or any part thereof.

 

In testamony (sic) whereof witness our hands on this 16 day of August A.D. 1892.
