All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm *********************************************** IVY CEMETERY Surveyed by Debra Coursey Pitts & son D.J. in Dec.2002 Location: from Huntington take 2109 , beyond Oak Flat turn on Co.Rd.324 , go approx.1.7 miles. This cemetery sits up on a hill overlooking a small wildlife farm next to it, it has gentle breezes & quiet surroundings. At the entrance you will find the original headstone of Cyrus K.Ivy which has been pieced back together along with a new marker in recognition of him . The old one is still somewhat ledgible,it states that he was a native of Walton Co.,Georgia and died in Angelina Co.,it bears the dates of Dec.11.1814 / June 5,1890.The new memorial stone reads as follows : "Cyrus K.Ivy gave two acres of land for the Ivy Cemetery out of a 320 acre land grant received from Governor Sam Houston." He has a new headstone on the hilltop beside his wife which bears this information: Pvt. Co D 22 Texas Inf.
